Some people worry that intermittent fasting causes the body to become depleted of nutrients. But this worry about malnutrition is misguided. Which nutrients should we worry about? Energy, i.e. calories? Reducing energy is generally the point of weight loss, and the most common reason people use intermittent fasting. Is it macronutrients? We don’t generally worry about getting too few carbohydrates or fats. Protein can be eaten when you eat, and also can be conserved by the body. Vitamins and minerals are easily replaced by a daily multivitamin.
